Village Centre 1905.

J.J.Sainsbury had started his business in 1869 and the branch in Blackheath was one of a hundred opened between 1892 and 1914. It remained at No 13 Blackheath Village until 1959 when the company's policy changed to concentrate on larger supermarkets.
