Listed on the bill as a 'miscellaneous concert', Kreisler played twice at the Halls, first on Oct 31st, 1905 and then on Oct 27th, 1911. Kreisler at this time was thought to be the greatest living violinist. The Blackheath Local Guide described his first performance in 1905 as follows:

"...those who heard him on Tuesday for the first time must have felt that the numerous laudatory columns written in his honour were by no means exaggerated.

To describe at all adequately how Herr Kreisler makes his beautiful Guarnerius 'sing', as well as express almost any emotions pleases, would require much more space than is at our disposal. There is an an entire absence of anything akin to merely sensational execution in Her Kreisler's playing, but instead he prefers to interpret with that delicacy, subtlety, depth of feeling and glowing imagination which, with his other gifts, make him the greatest violinist of the present age".
