Whittaker 2-3 Spencer Place 1841.
Built originally as separate shops, 5 & 7 Tranquil Vale have been linked as a single unit since their first occupation in 1845. Whittaker took over the premises in 1847. Whittaker was a very prosperous Blackheath businessman who played an important part in the development of Royal Parade in 1861.
It was acquired by Hinds in 1909.
